Primary evergreen broad-leaved lowland forest on very steep hill slopes and along ridge composed with stratified shale and sandstone at elev. about 400-450 m a.s.l.
Terrestrial herb up to 1 m tall on very steep rocky slope. Flowers white-yellow, central tepal with red center and red stripes. Occasional.
