Thanh Hoa Prov., Thuong Xuan Distr., Bat Mot Municipality, Ban Vin vill., Xuan Lien Nature Reserve, shale mountains, around point 19°58′18″N 104°59′10″E, 1000-1267 m.

In 2nd storey of prestine and primary Fokienia hodginsii submontane forests on ridges of mountains.

Evergreen medium-sized trees, up to 18-23 m tall, dbh up to 0.6-0.8 m. Fruits not ripe yet.
