Thanh Hoa Prov., Muong Lat Distr., Pu Nhi Municipality, Pu Ngua vill., ca 1000 m, to 15 km S of around point 20°16′59″N 104°48′21″E, very close to the borders with Laos, shale and sandstone mountains, in heavily logged evergreen mixte lowland forests on slopes.
Small evergreen treelet and saplings, regenerated rarely in forests.
Was common, nowadays become endangered species due to logging for timber and forest fire.
