Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr., Can Ty Comm., ca. 1200-1400 m, about 1 km to W of Dau Cau Vill. (around point 23005′06” N, 105001′56” E), ridges of limestone mountains.
In the second storey of primary closed evergreen conifer submontane forests with Xanthocyparis vietnamensis, dominant conifer is Pseudotsuga sinensis. Usually small sized tree, up to 8-10 x 0.2-0.3 m. Sterile.
