Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr., Bat Dai Son Comm., ca. 700-1200 m. Introduced, cultivated in plantation, mostly on shale soil, at the elevation of ca. 700-1200 m. Growing fast, about 2 cm in diam./year. 7 years old tree up to 15-20 x 0.2 m. Seed cones not ripe yet.
