Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr., Can Ty Comm., Lung Vai Vill., ca. 1000-1200 m, about 1 km to N of Dau Cau Vill. (around point 23005′06” N, 105001′56” E), ridges of limestone mountains.
Dominant in primary closed evergreen conifer forest. Usually medium sized tree, up to 10-15 x 0.25-0.35 m. Seed cones ripe, opened.
