Lang Son Prov., Huu Lung Distr., Huu Lien Commune, Coc vill., Huu Lien Nature Reserve, shale hill on foot of limestone mts., around point 21°40′28” N, 106°22′34” E, 200 m.
Collected seedlings and saplings on top ridges of limestone mts., ca. 300-600 m a.s.l., in primary closed evergreen seasonal tropical mixte lowland forests ; cultivated rarely as ornamental tree in private (Mr Hoang Van Phan) gardens on shale soils.
Treelet, ca. 5-7 x 0.15-0.2 m. Bearing many old female, young female and male cones. The plant which bears most of female cones among all cultivated ones.
