Collected seedlings and saplings on top ridges of limestone mts., ca. 300-600 m a.s.l., in primary closed evergreen seasonal tropical mixte lowland forests; cultivated rarely as ornamental tree in private (Mr Hoang Van Chiem) garden on shale soils.
