Introduced ? since longtime from South China, cultivated mainly in limestone areas of prov. Lang Son. Fruits and leaves are used as spice. Cultivated, blooming and giving fruits in Nguyentien nursery, Hung Yen, Van Giang distr., Xuan Quan commune, Bat Trang locality.
Evergreen treelet, up to 3-4 m tall, dbh to 0.1 m; fruits ripening.
