Primary closed evergreen broad-leaved wet forest on steep mountain slopes and along ridge composed with shale and granite at elevation 1000-1050 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on moss tree trunks in shady place. Locally very common. Cultivated and blooming in Nguyentien nursery at Bat Trang, Mar-Apr 09. Flowers yellowish.
