Secondary evergreen woodlands and scrubs, edges of primary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest on steep slopes composed with shale at elevation 400-500 m a.s.l.
Treelet 5-7 m tall in open grassy place along forest border. Flower buds light greenish. Common.
