Primary broad-leaved closed wet forest on very steep rocky slopes and cliffs of low remnant mountains composed with highly eroded solid marble-like limestone at elevation about 700-800 m a.s.l.
Shrub or treelet to 3 m tall on very steep rocky shady slope. Fruits green to pink, seeds brightly red. Locally common.
