FLORA OF VIETNAM Plants of Yen Bai Province Ebenaceae Rhododendron sp.
Yen Bai Prov., Mu Cang Chai Distr., Nam Co Comm., Phinh Ngai Vill., Trung Tu Pa hill, around point 21054′21” N, 104018′20” E. Rather common in secondary and completely logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved forests on slopes of mountains, 1650-1920 m a.s.l., on shale and sandstone basic rocks, mixte sometimes with quartzite. Shrub, 4-6 m tall, evergreen. Plants in full flowers. Flowers white with yellow patches on foot of one petal lobe.
