Northern Vietnam, Ha Tinh Prov., Huong Son Distr., Son Kim Municipality, to the S of Rao An village, around point 18°20′50′'N, 105°14′09′'E. Primary evergreen submontane seasonal broad-leaved and mixed (with Dacrycarpus) forest along granite ridge at 1100-1150 m a.s.l. Shrub 1.5-2 m hg on steep rocky shady slope. Flowers white with violet tint. Very common. Usual co-dominant of shrub forest stratum.
