FLORA OF VIETNAM Illiciaceae Illicium tsaii A.C. Sm. Northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Van Ban Distr., to the west of Nam Xay village (around point 21°58′09′'N, 104°00′55′'E). Primary broad-leaved evergreen and mixed (with Fokienia hodginsii) montane forests along granite/quartzite ridge at elev. 1900-2000 m a.s.l. Tree 15-20 m hg. Flowers yellowish-white, pleasant spicy fragrant. Not common.
