Northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Van Ban Distr., Khanh Yen Ha municipality, in the vicinity of Na Nheo village (around point 22°00′18′'N, 104°17′59′'E). Old secondary broad-leaved evergreen lowland forest on granite and quartzite along mountain river at elev. about 420 m a.s.l. Terrestrial and lithophytic herb among wet shady riparian rocks. Flowers light violet, with white base of tepals, anther yellow-orange. Occasionally very common.
