Primary evergreen broad-leaved and mixed montane forests (with Fokienia hodginsii) along granite and quartzite ridge at elev. 2000-2100 m a.s.l. Tree a 15 m hg. Flowers white, reddish-purple inside, at the base of tube. Rare.
