Primary broad-leaved evergreen montane forest along tops of granite/quartzite ridge at elev. 2300-2400 m a.s.l. Tree 6-8 m hg. Flowers white with yellow tint, anther yellow. Common. Usual co-dominant of first forest stratum at elev. 2300-2650 m a.s.l.
