Northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Van Ban Distr., Khanh Yen Ha municipality, to the SW of Na Nheo village (in the vicinity of point 21°58′26′'N, 104°14′21′'E). Primary closed evergreen broad-leaved submontane forest with Fokienia hodginsii on steep granite and quartzite slopes at elev. 1400-1500 m a.s.l. Terrestrial fern on very steep shady slope. Not common.
