Primary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest on steep mountain slopes and along ridges composed with granite and shale at elev. about 1900-2350 m a.s.l.

Tuberiferous epiphyte on tall mossy trees on steep slopes in ericaceious cloudy forest on tops of ridge. Fruits red. Occasional.
