Primary closed evergreen broad-leaved wet cloudy ericaceous forest on very steep mountain slopes and on tops of ridge composed predominantly with shale at elev. about 2300-2500 m a.s.l.
Terrestrial herb on mossy steep slope near tops of ridge. Leaves coriaceous, glossy dark green. Locally very common.
