In closed primary evergreen submontane forest on steep
granite slopes. Shrub, c. 1-3 m tall. Flower buds violet. Collectors: N.V. Trai, Q.D. Trong, N.Q. Hung, N.T.K. Thanh and T.N. Tuan.
