Primary evergreen humid mixed and coniferous forest on slopes composed with silicate rocks.
Tree to 40 m tall and to 1.5 m DBH on tops and on ridge slopes from 1150 to the tops of ridge. Large old trees not common, seedlings, saplings and young trees to 0.15 m DBH abundant. Cones 6-8 cm long in old trees and to 18 cm long in younger samples.
