N. Vietnam, prov. Son La, distr. Moc Chau, municipality Chieng Hac, vicinities of Co Liu village (N 20°51′ E 104°38′). Open secondary forest and shrubs on steep slopes along road. Woody grass 8-10 m hg. Very common. Usual dominante of secondary plant communities in the area at elevations 500-600 m. Mostly on shales and also on limestones.
