S. Vietnam, Prov. Lam Dong, 30 km to NE from Dalat city, distr. Lac Duong, municipalite Da Chay. Primary closed evergreen broadleaved forest on W macroslope of Bi Dup mt system at 1700-1900 m alt. (N 12° 08′, E 108° 39′). Giant herb up to 3.5 m hg in open wet place. Flowers white, central petal orange-red. Common. VH 3156 24.03.1997 International Botanical Expedition of the U.S.A.
