S. Vietnam, Prov. Khanh Hoa, distr. Khanh Son, 41 km to NE from Dalat city. Closed primary wet broadleaved cloud forest on E macroslope of Hon Giao mt. ridge at 1500-1600 m alt. (N 12° 11′, E 108° 43′). Epilitic herb up to 1.5 m hg. Flowers purple-violet. Common at 1100-1500 m alt. VH 4156 22.04.1997 International Botanical Expedition of the U.S.A.
